Just when I think....

Just when I think I am going to start something new my plan changes...

I started this blog with hopes to capture the attention of followers who enjoy planning things so that we could share our ideas together...

well...I started it, then I went out and got myself a JOB...yep...a teaching job. It only lasted a week due to the HORRIBLE administration and the fact that one of the owners assaulted me...so that is why I was M.I.A. for the last few weeks.

But now I am back and here is my list of events I am planning from now till Christmas:

1. Helping a friend plan her daughter's Strawberry Shortcake Party
2. Planning a special Anniversary dinner for my husband and I
3. Planning a friendship party for my daughter's play group friends
4. Decorating for a women's ministry retreat
5. Planning a trip to Vegas for a bachelorette party
6. Planning a bridal shower
7. Preparing hairbows for a Christmas vendor show
I think that is it for now...I am sure I will load my plate up some more as the weeks go on!

This is usually what I feel like when the events get close to completion! ;)

What are you planning from now till the end of the year? Share your ideas here!!

Birthday Party Planning

I am a planner by nature...
Everything I do is {mostly} planned out...
kinda freaks my husband out a bit! heehee

When it comes to my kids birthday's I begin planning almost a year in advance.

Picking a theme, begin looking for items to buy, and so on....

So here is a run down of what I do...

First: I pick a theme {for my 12 year old I get his input, for my 3 year old I have picked}
Second: I begin researching the heck out of the theme idea...
finding ideas for party decor, food, favors, games, etc..
Third: Begin making a guest list...I don't know about you but it ALWAYS
seems our guest list is SO large just after getting the family on the list.
Fourth: The fun begins here...start making decor and purchasing decor.
{allow ample time for this...
you DO NOT want to be putting things
together the week before the party!}
Fifth: Invitations {mail or email them out}
Sixth: Narrow down guest list, begin buying food items
Seventh: Last minute touches & PARTY!

I use ETSY and ALL the fabulous designers on there to help make each party unique and fun for my kids!

All though party planning can be stressful...it is a joy to do!

List made a week prior to the party...errands to run, things to borrow, what to get.

Guest list...counted, added to, deleted from...you name it!

List of food items and their themed names,  decor items and where they will go & what they will say!
  I would LOVE to hear from you and your party planning days...are you and EXTREME PLANNER...or do you just "wing it"!

The UN-planned of a planner....

Sometimes packing for a trip can be rather stressful...
Don't forget this, remember to pack that.
Maybe I should make a list so I remember everything,
I hope I remember to write everything down on my list...

You get it....

Well I traveled to Colorado this past weekend for my cousin's wedding,
leaving bright and early Thursday morning, and had boot camp Wednesday night...

Arrived in Colorado to find out I FORGOT to pack underwear...WHAT...who does that?
Well when you forget what you haven't packed and forget to write it on your list...
You tend to forget to get your MUCH needed necessities from the dryer!
OOPS...
There is light at the end of the tunnel...

The wedding was beautiful and my cousin was simply Gorgeous!

Party Favors

Planning parties is SO much fun for me!!
It's seems even more fun when I get asked to help make a party special!

A friend of mine threw her daughter a Surprise Glow in the Dark themed party.
Lacy, the birthday girl is obsessed with peace signs right now!
This is what I did and they were given out as party favors to all the little girls!

Stay tuned for Tips on Planning a Birthday Party later this week!

Meaningful Monday...Back to School Tips

Back to school already...WHAT??
Yep, that is true around here today marks the first day of school for some kids in my area.
My son begins on Thursday and my daughter on Monday! WOW, where did the summer go?

Preparing for Back to School can be stressful for parents and even stressful for the kids.
Here are some things I have found to help stay in your budget for school supplies!
What I do first is get the school supply list from school...
then I sit down and figure out where I can get the most bang for my buck!
Everything listed below I found for a dollar or less!

Dollar Tree: They have one of the BEST selections, I think, of school supplies.
If your children are younger and you know that by the end of the week their
crayons & pencils are going to be broken this is the place to shop.
Things to get from Dollar Tree:

Crayons {box of 48}
Pencils {they even have mechanical}
Markers {pack of 90}
Erasers {pack of 6}
Scissors
Kleenex
White board markers
Lined Paper

Fry's: Check the online ad before you go...but here is what I found this week:

Avery 4 pack highlighters
Bic Pens
1 subject notebooks

Walmart: Check your local online ad:

Pencils Box
Pocket Folders {plain colors}
Target: Check your local online ad:

Glue Sticks {6 pack}

 If you take the time to go to a few different places you are sure to
spend $30 or less {per child} on school supplies!
Everyone Loves to be around Happy, Enthusiastic people, so be one!

This week as you venture out into this crazy world we call home focus on making people smile. Amongst the stress in our lives, we all need to remember that a smile goes a long way!

XOXO,
